NewsStockbridge approves funding to revitalize alleyway

The Stockbridge City Council voted in favor of earmarking $350,000 for the rehabilitation of an alleyway in downtown Stockbridge, but exactly where those funds are coming from is not entirely clear.

The vote followed a lengthy discussion concerning the city’s Renaissance Strategic and Vision Plan project and what was seen as an issue with downtown parking following an event on Tuesday morning at the Ted Strickland Community Center, located on Martin Luther King Sr. Heritage Trail.

That issue was brought up by two individuals who own Barn Beautiful, a business on that same road. The business owners contended that the Tuesday event, which was run by a member of the Stockbridge City Council, took away from their business as the event’s attendees parked along the street.
